Fire Watch in Calgary
Under the Alberta Fire Code, a fire watch is required once a fire protection system is impaired or offline for more than two hours. Two hours arrives fast on a sprinkler tie-in or a panel upgrade. Aventyr covers the impairment with continuous thermal and smoke detection instead of an hourly patrol, at a fraction of what a guard costs.
What the Code Requires
The Alberta Fire Code requires a fire watch when a fire protection system is impaired or taken offline for more than two hours. A traditional fire watch means dedicated personnel patrolling the affected area at intervals no greater than 60 minutes, able to recognise a fire emergency, transmit a warning and operate portable fire control equipment.
Between those patrols there is up to 59 minutes of nothing. The AG-FW100 removes that window entirely, and transmits a verified alarm to a UL-Listed central station in under 60 seconds.
How a Deployment Runs
The Cost You Are Comparing Against
Manned fire watch runs 35 to 55 dollars an hour. For round-the-clock cover that is roughly 840 to 1,320 dollars a day, and a multi-week impairment can pass 25,000 dollars. You are paying that for a person walking a route once an hour, carrying a phone, writing in a notebook.
The AG-FW100 covers the same impairment continuously, for a fraction of it, and produces an auditable detection record rather than a handwritten one.
Coverage in Calgary
Calgary deployments cover downtown towers, industrial parks in the northeast, warehousing along Glenmore and Barlow, and construction sites mid-renovation. Anywhere the panel comes down and the building still has people, product or plant in it.
Alberta signals are received in Alberta, through Aventyr's ULC-certified monitoring under CAN/ULC-S561, with geographically separate backup facilities if that centre is ever compromised. Your alarm does not leave the province to get answered, and it never leaves the country.
